Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Pathankot – Dharamshala (approx. 2 hrs drive)

Welcome Greetings from Swati Tours & Travels!!!

Today morning our company’s representative will Meet, Greet and Assist you at Pathankot and later we will drive to Dharamshala by road. Mcleodganj is a famous little town of Dharamshala also known as “Little Tibet”. The Dalai Lama resides here. At the start of Mcleodganj is a small bazaar filled with variety of Tibetan handicrafts and artifacts. At the end of the spur lies the Namgyal Monastery. The external wall is surrounded by rows of prayer wheels. With in the monastery are large idols of Buddha. Excitement to visit the most beautiful hill station and formerly the Summer Headquarter of Govt. during British Rule - will compel you to wake-up early in the morning. Enjoy your breakfast and then proceed for the full day sightseeing of Dharamshala.

On arrival at Dharamshala, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Relax for the rest of the day.

Day 02: Dharamshala

Full day Sightseeing

Visit Kunal Pathri, War Memorial, Dal Lake, Bhagsung falls, overnight stay at the hotel. Dharamshala is the District Headquarter of Kangra district. This is a hill station lying on the spur of the Dhauladhar range about 18kms in North-East of Kangra town. Hill station is wooded with oak and conifer trees and snow capped mountains enfold three sides of the town while the valley stretches in front. Visit places like Chamunda Mandir, Brejeshwari Temple, Kangra Fort, Meclodganj, Bhagsu Nag etc.

We will also proceed to visit the Dall Lake -surrounded by high and green Deodar trees and which fills a mountain bowl as well as the perfect place for Picnic.

Day 03: Dharamshala – Khajjiar (approx. 5 hrs drive)

Today morning post breakfast, we will check-out the hotel and continue our journey to next destination Khajjiar – located at the center of the sloping meadows is a small bog like pond into which water from the surrounding meadows and forests drains. Khajjiar was probably a glacial bowl formed during the last Himalayan ice age and left with a lake that gradually withered away. Khajjiar is part of the notified Kalatop – Khajjiar sanctuary. The Monal Pheasant, a bird which was fairly common till recent times has become relatively difficult to spot nowadays.

On arrival at Khajjiar, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Relax for the rest of the day.

Day 04: Khajjiar – Dalhousie (approx. 30 mins. Drive)

Today morning after breakfast we will drive to Dalhousie. Dalhousie was established in 1854 by the British Governor General Lord Dalhousie. Built around five hills Dalhousie is clothed in stately groves of deodar and oak. Its marvelous forests trails overlook vistas of wooded hills, waterfalls, spring and rivulets. Dalhousie still has a touch of the “Raj” and its colonial style building and houses bring back the flavors of an earlier era.

On arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Relax for some time and get refresh yourself. Later we will proceed to explore the natural treasure of Dalhousie.

We will visit Kalatop and Khajjiar Lake. Later we will also visit Terah (Moti Tibba) Potreyn hills from the central part of the town. Of the five stately churches, Dalhousie oldest is dedicated to St. John and is situated near the GPO, built on stern Romanesque lines, Sacred Heart School..

Day 05: Dalhousie

Full Day City Exploration

Visit places like Bakrota Hill for waterfall walk, Bathri View, Pangi View, & water falls of Subhash Bowli, Satdhara, Panjpulla) etc.

Day 06: Dalhousie – Pathankot (approx. 2 hrs drive) (Departure)

Today morning check-out the hotel and drive back to Pathankot for your onward journey to next destination.
