Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival NJP – IXB – Gangtok
Welcome Greetings from Swati Tours & Travels!!!
On arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport, will be met by our office Executive who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok (130 kms / 4hrs). Check in and over night at Hotel.
Day 02: Gangtok
Go for a half day sightseeing tour covering Rumtek Monastery, Droul Chorthen, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom, Flower Show, Enchey Monastery & Nam Nam View Point.
O/n stay at Hotel.
Day 03: Excursion Trip – Tsomgo Lake & Back
A day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (departure in the morning) - situated at a height of 3,780 mts. with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Return back to Gangtok.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 04: Gangtok – Lachung
Pick up from Gangtok Hotel and transfer to Lachung (117 kms / 05 1/2 hrs).
Lunch en-route.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05: Excursion Trip Yumthnag Valley & Back
Early Morning visit Yumthang-valley (known as Valley of Flowers), Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks & winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back visit the Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort for lunch.
Overnight stay at Lachung.
Day 06: Lachung – Gangtok
Transfer to Gangtok. On the way, see mighty Kanchendzonga from Singhik (subjected to good weather condition) and visit Phodang Monastery. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 07: Gangtok – Pelling
Transfer to Pelling via Temi Tea Garden (only tea garden in state) & the Gurupadmasambhava statue (5 hrs.
Approx). One can enjoy the spectacular Eastern Himalayan Range from Pelling .O/n Halt.
Day 08: Pelling
After breakfast start for full day sightseeing which includes Pemayangtse Monastery, Rimbi Falls,
Kanchenjunga falls, Singh Shore Bridge, Khecheopalri Lake, Darap Village and Changey Falls. O/n Halt.
Day 09: Pelling – Yuksom
After breakfast, drive to Yuksom (35 Km / 02Hrs). On the way, visit Khecheopalri Lake. It is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lakes. A further drive takes you to Yuksom (the meeting place of three monks) - the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 10: Yuksom
Early morning 35 minutes moderate walk to Dhubdi Monastery (built in 1700 AD, the oldest monastery of Sikkim) and Tashi Namgyal (the stone throne for the first king).
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11: Yuksom – Kalimpong
After breakfast, transfer to Kalimpong (85 Kms/ 4 Hrs). Check into hotel. Evening, visit Flower Nurseries, Durbin Dara Hills & Durbin Monastery. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Leave Kalimpong – NJP – IXB
Transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport (100 Kms / 3 Hrs) for onwards connection.
