Offbeat Himachal

Duration: 10 Days / 09 Nights.            
Itinerary: Delhi – Shoghi – Shimla – Narkanda – Jalori Pass & Serolsar Lake – Naggar – Manali – Solang Valley & Rohtang Pass – Nalagarh – Delhi.

Day 01: Delhi – Shoghi (6-7 hrs drive)
Welcome Greetings from Swati Tours & Travels!!!
Today early morning, our company’s representative will meet, greet and assist you. Later we will drive to Shoghi. On arrival in the late afternoon, transfer to your forest retreat resort.
Shoghi - 18 kms short of Shimla. Rustic, bamboo huts in the middle of a pine forest on a ridge. The area is enclosed by untouched countryside with panoramic views, numerous village treks, jungle walks in pine, oak and rhododendron forests. The undergrowth houses some rare species of herbs and exotic birds and also wild rabbits, barking deer and peacocks. A perfect place for comfort, safety and serenity.

Day 02: Shoghi
Today is the tough as well as challenging day so move your muscles and enjoy Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Obstacle Course, Night Trek, and Barbecue Evening. Park Woods has a permanent obstacle course with many adventure activities besides recreation games and hammocks.

Day 03: Shoghi – Narkanda (approx. 2 hrs drive)
After breakfast, leave for Shimla for half day sightseeing. We will visit –The Mall / The Ridge / Vice Regal Lodge.
Shimla, the summer capital of erstwhile British India, now the capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh, it evokes a sense of nostalgia with its pretty gabled cottages, half-timbered buildings and old churches. The imperial legacy is at its most vivid here, and legends of a colorful past still walk the streets; while the Mall is agog with elegant shops, and bustling, gay cosmopolitan crowds that give the appearance of being on a perpetual holiday.
Reach Tethys Resort in Narkanda by the evening. Nestled in the majestic Himalayas, the Retreat has been built to exacting standards with wood floors, cozy furniture, crackling fires and an inviting ambience. Built at a picturesque location the rooms offer splendid views of the Himalayas, villages and valleys.

Day 04: Narkanda
Activities include skiing (winter), mountain biking, horse riding, nature walks as well as camping and allied activities. For people wanting just to relax, there is a pool room, fire place and a library.
In season visits to apple and cherry orchards are possible. One can drive upto the Hatu Peak at 10,500 feet for a picnic lunch and then drive 18 kms to Thanedar in Kotgarh area. During the summers you can see the beautiful rosy pink flowers blooming on the apple trees and August onwards the orchards are laden by green and red apples.

Day 05: Narkanda – Naggar (5-6 hrs drive)
Today morning post breakfast, we will drive 100 kms up to Jalori Pass at 10,600 feet. From Jalori Pass, it is interesting to trek up to Serolsar Lake (Round trek of 2.5 hours). After lunch, drive onwards 95 kms through Shoja or Sojha towards Manali to reach Naggar. Heritage Village Resort is 2 km from Naggar towards Manali in Kullu District. Naggar is 22 kms from Manali and houses the Naggar Castle and the Roerich Art Gallery. The resort is surrounded by a thick forest of deodar trees, apple orchard and spread out paddy fields. The rooms have wooden flooring and are equipped with all modern facilities.

Day 06: Naggar
Visit the beautiful heritage Naggar Castle, the old capital of Kullu. In Naggar, you can visit the Roerich Art Gallery museum, in a grove of deodars with lovely views all around. It houses a collection of the paintings by the Russian artist. Naggar is very serene and picturesque and also offers treks and adventure activities. The resort also offers various adventure activities like sky ride, boating, trampoline jumping, rock climbing, burma bridge, hammocks.

Day 07: Naggar – Manali (approx. 1 hrs drive)
Today morning we will check-out the resort after breakfast and drive to Manali – A Dazzling Beauty of Hills and also The Switzerland of India. Manali– the sheer raw beauty of perennial snow covered peaks for a backdrop, a wooded land full of majestic deodars and scented pines, a newly born mighty Himalyan river flowing by and a panoramic valley stretching out gives the place a surrealistic setting. A favourite shooting place for Bollywood filmmakers, Manali also has many avenues for summer activities full of adventure like trekking, mountaineering, river rafting , ballooning, parasailing and winter activities of skiing and heli-skiing. Above all Manali offers a surprising diversity of holidays.
On arrival at Manali, transfer to your hotel for check-in.
Here we will visit some of the most interesting tourist places like Hadimba devi Temple, Manu Temple, Club House, Tibetan Monasteries, Mountaineering Institute, Vasisht Hot Water Spring and Temple, Nehru Kund - on the road to Keylong is the Nehru kund (6 km) which is a clear water spring end scenic spot named after the late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. Kothi (12 km) is a picturesque village and has a thrilling view of the deep gorge through which the Beas swiftly races. The beautiful Rahalla falls (16 km) are at an altitude of 2500 m. A crucial link on the old trade route and still the gateway to Trans Himalayan Lahaul, the Rohtang Pass is at the height of 3980m.

Day 08: Excursion to Solang Valley & Rohtang Pass
Today drive up to Solang Valley and get the adrenalin rush with paragliding in summers and skiing in winters. Later proceed to the mighty snowbound Rohtang Pass - at 13000 feet - the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti valley. Revel in the breathtaking beauty of Kothi, Rahalla Falls and Marrhi en-route to Rohtang. (subject to weather conditions)

Day 09: Manali – Nalagarh (6-7 hrs drive). 
Leave Manali at 10 A.M. Driving thru’ the picturesque Kullu Valley reach Nalagarh Fort Resort at 4.30 P.M.
Nalagarh Fort is a quality heritage resort with A/c theme rooms. Pamper yourself at the resort - swimming, tennis, badminton, ayurvedic massages; visit the Mughal Gardens at Pinjore nearby.

Day 10: Nalagarh – Delhi (6-7 hrs drive).

After a relaxed morning at the resort, check-out the resort and drive back to Delhi for your onward journey to next destination.
