Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival NJP – IXB – Mirik

Welcome Greetings from Swati Tours & Travels!!!

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP / IXB & transfer to Mirik Lake. an excellent picnic spot, nestled in forested hills at an altitude of 5800 ft., it is famous for its man-made Sumendu Lake; orange orchards, cardamom plantations and tea estates enhance the Surroundings here. Overnight stay at Mirik.

Day 02: Mirik – Darjeeling

After breakfast transfer to Darjeeling is one of the most magnificent hill resorts in the world. Evening free to explore this Hill queen.

Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03: Full Day Sight Seeing In Darjeeling

Early Morning at 0400 AM visit Tiger Hill famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchenzonga, on way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and back to hotel. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNZ Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetean Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view), Ava Art Gallery and Japanese Temple. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04: Darjeeling – Pelling

Today we will enter Sikkim. The drive is truly a naturalist's delight. The hillsides and mountain slopes of Sikkim are strewn with bright patches of myriad colors. Transfer to Pelling via Temi Tea Garden (only tea garden in state) & the Gurupadmasambhava statue. One can enjoy the spectacular Eastern Himalayan Range from Pelling.

O/n Halt.

Day 05: Pelling – Yuksom

After breakfast start for full day sightseeing which includes Pemayangtse Monastery, Rimbi Falls, and Kanchenjunga falls, Singh shore Bridge, Khecheopalri Lake, Darap Village and Changey Falls. After visit drive to Yuksom (35 Km / 02Hrs). On the way, visit Khecheopalri Lake. It is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lakes.. A further drive takes you to Yuksom – the first capital of Sikkim, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06: Yuksom

Early morning 35 minutes moderate walk to Dhubdi Monastery (built in 1700 AD, the oldest monastery of Sikkim) and Tashi Namgyal (the stone throne for the first king).

Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07: Yuksom - Gangtok After breakfast drive from Yuksom to Gangtok (5 Hrs) passes lush green fields the famous large Sikkimese Cardamoms as well as Golden Rice. Overnight stay at hotel .

Day 08: Gangtok – Lachung

Pick up from Gangtok hotel and transfer to Lachung (122 kms / 06 hrs). We will be seeing the breathtaking landscapes of the northern part of Sikkim. Our drive takes us through lush green bamboo thickets and we arrive at the historical place of "Kabi Logstok". we will cross the Ranga Rang bridge which is said to be one of the highest bridges in Asia. Upon arrival at Lachung Check in into the hotel for overnight halt.

Day 09: Excursion – Yumthnag Valley & Back

Early Morning visit Yumthang-valley (known as Valley of Flowers), Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks & winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back visit the Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort , Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10: Lachung - Lachen
48 km 3 hr drive. This day we visit Lachen. This is famous for its monastery built in the early 1800 century and also for the wide open valley. Overnight at Lachen

Day 11: Lachen – Lachung Via Chopta Valley. After breakfasts proceed to Lachung Enroute visit Chopta Valley -The valley is located at an altitude of about 4140 mt. The place has been opened for tourists only during 2003. A small village close to indo Tibetan boarder. The beauty of the place is only to be seen to be believed.

Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 12: Lachung – Gangtok

After breakfast departure (9.00 am,) for the Gangtok en-route witness the Beautification of the wonderful Bheema & Twin Falls.

O/n Halt at Gangtok.

Day 13: Gangtok

After breakfast start half day city tour of Gangtok covering Rumtek Monastery, Botanical Garden, Do-Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower show and cottage industry. Evening free for personal activities & shopping. O/n halt at Gangtok.

Day 14: Excursion – Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

A day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (departure in the morning) - situated at a height of 3,780 mts. with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Return back to Gangtok. Overnight halt at Gangtok Hotel.

Day 15: Gangtok - Kalimpong
Morning breakfast thereafter transfer to Kalimpong. Kalimpong is a pretty hill station, with majestic Himalayas in the background and gently rolling hills around. It has a relaxed and unhurried air about it. After Lunch Visit Mangal Dham, Durga Mandir, Hanuman Top, Dello, Pine View Nursery, Dr.Grahams Home, Nature interpretation center, Golf course, Buddhist monastery . O/n Halt.

Day 16: Excursion Trip to Lava & Loleygaon Orchid Sanctuary

This is only two hour drive from Kalimpong and the government has preserved this area because of its rare orchids. This day you may spend some time exploring the beautiful hilly country side in search of wild orchids. We will also visit Dentam fort, Rikisum and the eco-tourism village at Pedong before returning to Kalimpong in the afternoon to see the local handicrafts and the busy marketplace. Overnight stay at Kalimpong

Day 17: Kalimpong – Chalsa

After breakfast you can visit Mangal Dham, Durga Mandir, Hanuman Top, Dello, Pine View Nursery, Dr. Grahams Home, Buddhist monastery, Rishi Bankim Park and Zelepla View point Back to hotel for check out and transfer to Chalsa.

Overnight stay at Resort / Camp.

Day 18: Full Day In Chalsa

Start at 06.00-hrs visit Garumara National park. Back to hotel. After lunch proceed to Chapramari Wild life Sanctuary.

Back to hotel.

Evening Free for leisure activities.

Day 19: Chalsa – NJP – IXB

Morning free for packing & personal activities. After breakfast transfer to NJP Stn or IXB Airport for return journey.
